Can you use a Huusk folding knife as your chef knife?
Check the lock rather than the blade. A folding knife is a knife with a hinge in it, and the hinge has to hold against the back of the edge, not just against a spring. The ones here lock. Treat any folder that only holds on spring tension as a picnic tool.
What will you use a Huusk ulu knife for?
It is an edge with the handle on top, so you rock it with your whole forearm instead of your wrist. Herbs, nuts and anything you would otherwise chop for two minutes. People buy it for camping and end up using it on the kitchen counter.
Can you take a Huusk knife camping?
That is what the sheaths and the folders are for. The thing to plan for is moisture rather than damage: a high carbon blade sealed damp inside leather will come out spotted. Dry it before it goes back in, and oil it if it is going to sit for a season.
